We are often overloaded throughout the year, so we take advantage of the summer to disconnect as much as possible , each according to their own scale of possibilities, obviously.
First, you can start by turning off all work-related notifications . Then, you can try putting your phone aside during an activity to better enjoy it, then a few more hours, the transition will happen naturally and you will quickly realize that you don’t necessarily need to have it on you all the time or take it out at the slightest opportunity.
When there is less activity, such as in the evening, we opt for a good book or a light magazine to avoid jumping on the screens to watch Netflix or social networks. We can also try crosswords , card games , drawing … Anything goes to change our habits!
Any extra tips for cutting? Wear a watch to avoid looking at the time on your phone, put it in airplane mode from time to time…
Practice Mindfulness Effortlessly
We give ourselves 5-10 minutes (or more!) a day to focus only on what is there at that moment : the smell of toasting bread, the water tickling our skin, the textures under our feet, the clouds we look at precisely in the sky when we are lying on the beach or in the grass. We focus on the sounds, the smells, the feelings of the things around us and only on that, for a few minutes. This will allow us to relax, clear our heads and gradually learn to meditate, with all the benefits we know of this practice!
Video: 5 tips for disconnecting on vacation
A new sport, a typical dish, an original visit… Vacations can be a good opportunity to get out of our comfort zone without too much effort. We take the plunge and we have little to lose, there is often little risk in trying new things, except that of liking them!
Knowing how to say no
Accept not to overload yourself so as not to be stressed . You have to know and respect your limits. The idea of vacations is also to take your time, not to put pressure on yourself and to let go a little on the organization. It can be useful therefore, to learn to say no to all the projects that are proposed to you , but also to yourself if you feel that you This allows you to replenish your physical, creative, mental energy…
But also, and above all, knowing how to say yes!
During the holidays, we treat ourselves. If we want an ice cream at 6 p.m., we go for it, if we want to take a nap by the pool, we rest, if we want to leave on a whim, we don’t hesitate, if we need a massage, we book one. We leave guilt, whatever it may be , aside and we learn to listen to ourselves, to follow our instincts and our desires. This doesn’t necessarily mean doing anything, but being more in tune with what we really want.
